With strong emphasis on details and commercial awareness throughout this programme, student will be able to generate ideas and high quality outcomes for visual identity packages such as product packaging, websites and cross-platform advertising campaigns.

WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE?

Distinct elements of this course will be: interest in pursuing creative solutions to graphic design problems, a broad-based and adaptable approach, self-authorship, narrative and sequence skills, art-direction, ability to direct a range of different outcomes, multi-disciplinary confidence and ability to accomplish communication tasks across a range of media and client bases.

 

TUITION

We also host guest speakers from the graphic design sector and advertising agencies to speak to you about their experiences. We engage regularly in exchange of ideas, research and contacts with our partners.  You will be taught to engage with the rapidly evolving market of digital design and visual communication on a local, national and global scale, in line with the demands of a fast-expanding industry.

The programme is complimented by visits to studio’s, agencies and industry practitioners; as well as attendance to Museums, Galleries and Exhibitions. The school takes part in international competitions, submits tenders and collaborates with companies thus allowing individual students or whole classes to take part in external professional offers – and ‘live projects’ which are always stimulating during their training period.

TEACHING

Yours course consists of a combination of structured learning and teaching activities and independent learning. This would consist of a variety of engaging teaching methods from workshops, lectures, group critique and seminars as well as individual tutorials. There is also emphasis on hands-on practical sessions which contributes towards the strong studio culture that has developed within the subject area.

ASSESSMENT

You will be given opportunities to test your understanding of the subject informally before you complete the formal assessments that count towards your final mark. This may take the form of practice or ‘formative’ assessments for which you will receive feedback from your tutor. Formative assessments are developmental and any marks you receive do not count towards your overall module mark.

There is at least one formal or ‘summative’ assessment towards the end of each module. The marks from summative assessments do count towards your overall module mark. Here’s how we would assess your work:

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Level 3 qualifications which attract a minimum of 80 UCAS tariffs through one or more of the following: BTEC National
  • Diploma, A-levels, Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, other level 3 accredited qualifications and non-UK level 3 equivalent qualifications confirmed through NARIC. Every application is considered on an individual basis
  • English proficiency: IELTS 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 for each component) or equivalent (CEFR Level B2)
  • All applicants will be required to attend an interview with a portfolio of work that demonstrates creative ability or talent
